VERÃO CLÁSSICO on tour
VERÃO CLÁSSICO on tour is an initiative that aims to transport the musical excellence of the Festival and Academia VERÃO CLÁSSICO to several national and international cities, in the form of concerts and masterclasses.
In this first edition of VERÃO CLÁSSICO on tour, pianist Filipe Pinto-Ribeiro and bassist Tiago Pinto-Ribeiro, directors of the Festival and Academia VERÃO CLASSICO will be accompanied by three musicians of excellence, world references in their instruments: the Romanian violinist Mihaela Martin was the first winner of the Indianapolis International Violin Competition (USA) and Violin Professor at the Cologne Superior School of Music and at the Barenboim-Said Academy, in Berlin; the French-Swiss violist Miguel da Silva was for 30 years the violist of the famous Ysaÿe Quartet and is Master in Residence at the Royal Chapel Queen Elisabeth, in Belgium; Swedish cellist Frans Helmerson combines his passion for solo and chamber music with his career as a Professor at the Kronberg Academy and the Barenboim-Said Academy in Berlin.
Founded in 2015, VERÃO CLÁSSICO is recognized as one of the most important and on demand Festivals and Academies in the world. With a performative and an educational axis, VERÃO CLÁSSICO presents concerts and masterclasses annually in Lisbon, guided by musicians and teachers from some of the most prestigious international teaching institutions and soloists of some of the world best orchestras, such as the Conservatories and Superior Schools of Music of Berlin, Moscow, Paris, London, Brussels, Boston, Oslo, Cologne, Geneva, Lausanne, Madrid, etc, the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, Amsterdam Concertgebow, Bavarian Radio, Orchestre de Paris, etc, and world-renowned musicians, such as Gary Hoffman, Pascal Moraguès, Imogen Cooper, Emily Beynon, Radek Baborák, Eldar Nebolsin, Mihaela Martin, Frans Helmerson, Benjamin Schmid, Stephan Picard, Miguel da Silva, Gérard Caussé, Veronika Hagen, Adrian Brendel, Janne Saksala, Matthew MacDonald, Jack Liebeck, Ramón Ortega-Quero, Nicholas Daniel, Silvia Careddu and Anna Samuil, amongst many others.In its seven editions, over 1000 young musicians from dozens of nationalities participated in VERÃO CLÁSSICO, several of whom were awarded the VERÃO CLÁSSICO Awards, which Offers concerts included in festivals and musical seasons in Portugal. VERÃO CLÁSSICO thus fosters the training and public presentation of young talents, encouraging and supporting them in building their careers, while encouraging cultural exchange between participants of different nationalities. It offers Portuguese students, in their own country, a platform for the development of their artistic level and the exceptional possibility of learning with some of the most prestigious international teachers.
The 8th edition of VERÃO CLÁSSICO will take place from the 1st to the 13th of August 2022.
